AINOW - AI Platform for Literacy

AINOW Education (edu.ainow.mk) is a free, locally-run AI literacy platform built specifically for educators — teachers, school directors, and administrative staff. It brings together a structured AI guide, a bank of 854+ real-world prompts, 57+ ready-to-use tools, a test studio for creating student assessments, a glossary, and curated resources — all in one place, with no account, no installation, and no tracking.

Schools across North Macedonia and the wider Western Balkans region were encountering AI tools with no structured guidance, no vetted resources, and no practical framework for use in the classroom. Teachers were left to figure it out on their own — often without reliable internet, time, or institutional support.

We built AINOW Education because every school deserves access to quality AI literacy resources — regardless of infrastructure, budget, or connectivity. It's part of our broader mission: making AI education accessible, practical, and honest.

Primarily designed for teachers, school administrators, and educational staff in North Macedonia and the Western Balkans region. That said, anyone working in education can benefit — the core content is structured, practical, and immediately applicable in a classroom or school management context. Students can also use it directly for AI fundamentals and guided learning.

The platform currently supports Macedonian, Albanian, and English — reflecting the linguistic reality of education in North Macedonia. We're actively planning to expand to Bosnian, Serbian, and additional regional languages, so the platform can serve the broader Western Balkans and Southeast European educational community. Completely free. No subscriptions, no registration, no hidden costs. AINOW Education Program is a public-interest initiative by AINOW Society, a non-profit NGO. There is no catch — just open access to quality educational resources for every school that needs them.

No. The platform runs locally in your browser — nothing is sent to any server, no analytics are collected, and no user data is stored anywhere. This is a deliberate design decision, not an afterthought. Schools handle sensitive data about minors; we take that seriously. Privacy-first by default, always.

Three options, depending on your school's setup:

1. One-click browser install — Visit edu.ainow.mk and install it as a standalone desktop app directly from your browser's address bar (PWA install). Works offline once installed. Instant access to all 854 prompts and 57 tools.
2. Local server install — Download the source code from our GitHub repository and run it on a local machine or school server. Ideal for schools with a local network and limited external internet access.
3. USB deployment — Run the platform from a USB drive with zero setup. Perfect for classrooms with no internet access at all. Plug in, open browser, start teaching.

No account required, ever. For internet: you need a connection the first time you visit edu.ainow.mk, but once installed as a desktop app — or deployed locally or via USB — it runs fully offline. This matters in practice: many schools in the region face unstable or limited connectivity, and we've designed around that reality from day one.

Six main modules: an AI Guide (18 structured chapters covering AI fundamentals), a Prompt Bank (854+ verified prompts for real classroom and admin tasks), AI Tools (57+ ready-to-use templates), a Test Studio (create professional student assessments directly in the platform), Prompt Lists (curated collections by subject and role), and a Resources section with external references and further reading. A built-in glossary is also included.

Yes — the AI Guide and Test Studio are both designed with student-facing use in mind. Teachers can walk students through the structured chapters, share specific prompts, or create custom tests for their class. The platform is intentionally straightforward, so students can engage with it independently as well.

No. The platform is fully standalone — all content, prompts, tools, and guides work without any external AI account. The sidebar includes quick-access shortcuts to ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude for teachers who want to use them alongside the platform, but these are optional conveniences, not requirements.

Yes. The full source code is publicly available on GitHub at github.com/AINOW-Society/edu. Schools, developers, and organizations in the region are welcome to fork it, adapt it for their context, or contribute to the project.
