There's a quiet crisis in education right now. AI is reshaping how people work, learn, and create — and most teachers have been handed zero guidance on what to do about it.

Not because they don't care. Because the tools built to help them are either too complex, too expensive, require an account, or simply don't exist in their language.
The AINOW Platform for AI Literacy is my attempt to fix that.

What It Is
AINOW is a free, open-source web application built specifically for educators — teachers, school principals, and administrators — who want to understand and use AI in their daily work.
It runs at edu.ainow.mk. No installation. No account. No data collection. No subscription.

But it's more than a website. AINOW is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — which means it automatically adapts to whatever device you're using. Open it on a desktop computer and you get a full-featured layout. Open it on a tablet and the interface adjusts. Open it on your phone and you get a mobile-optimized experience with touch-friendly controls, a 50/50 button grid, and bottom navigation. One platform, every screen, no extra work on your end.
Online, Offline, Your Choice
When you visit AINOW online, nothing is tracked. There are no analytics, no cookies, no user accounts, no server logs. The platform has no idea who you are or that you're there. You use it, you close it, nothing is stored anywhere except on your own device.
If you want to go further — or if your school has unreliable internet — you can install AINOW directly on your device. The PWA install works on Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS. Once installed, the platform works like a native app: it opens from your home screen or desktop, loads instantly, and runs entirely offline.
You can also download the full source code from GitHub and run AINOW from a local file on any computer. No server needed. Open index.html in a browser and you're done. This makes it ideal for schools that want full control over their tools — including running it from a USB drive on machines with no internet access at all.
What's Inside
An 18-Chapter AI Literacy Guide
A structured curriculum written for educators — not developers. It covers AI foundations, practical classroom applications, and reference material across three sections: Foundations, Practice, and Reference. Built with analogies and examples teachers can actually use.
800+ Ready-to-Use Prompts
Over 800 prompts tested and organized by role and grade level. Lesson planning, parent communication, assessment design, administrative tasks — there's a prompt for it. Copy with one click, open directly in ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude. Works on mobile just as well as desktop.
57 AI Tools for Education
A curated directory of AI tools for classrooms, organized by use case with clear pricing labels. No affiliate links, no sponsored placements. What you see is what the tool actually costs.
A 60-Term AI Glossary
Plain-language definitions of the AI vocabulary educators keep encountering — LLM, RAG, fine-tuning, deepfakes, responsible AI, and more. Searchable and filterable. Works fully offline.
Tri-lingual: English, Macedonian, Albanian
Every piece of content — the guide, the prompts, the glossary, the interface — is available in all three languages simultaneously. Switch at any time with one click. No page reload. Full content parity across all three languages.
Built to Last, Built for Everyone
AINOW is built with vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No frameworks. No build steps. No dependencies. This means:
- Any developer can contribute — no advanced tooling required
- Any school can self-host it — just copy the files
- Any teacher can use it — it works from a file, a USB, or a URL
The Service Worker built into the platform caches all content on first load, so the app works flawlessly the next time — whether you're connected or not. One download, permanent offline access.
Privacy by Design
No data leaves the device. Ever. This isn't a policy statement — it's an architectural fact. The platform has no backend, no database, and no network calls that carry personal data. What happens on your device stays on your device.
This matters for schools. Teachers handle sensitive information about students and colleagues every day. They shouldn't have to wonder what an edtech vendor is doing with their usage patterns.
Where It Stands Now
The platform is live and actively used in schools across Macedonia. Version 0.90 includes full accessibility support (keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, reduced motion for users with motion sensitivity), a complete offline experience, PDF export for learning materials, dark mode, and print-ready stylesheets so teachers can print materials without getting UI chrome on the page.
Multiple updates shipped in April 2026. The platform is actively maintained.
Get Involved
AINOW is open-source under GPLv3. Use it, fork it, translate it, extend it — just keep it open.
Looking for contributors to help with:
- New prompts for teachers and administrators
- Translations into additional Balkan languages (Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek, etc.)
- Expanding the AI tools directory
- Contributing to the learning guide
