Artificial intelligence is becoming part of education, work, media, and everyday decision-making. As this change accelerates, AI literacy is no longer only a technical skill. It is becoming an important competence for teachers, students, school leaders, and the wider public.

On Friday, 5 June, AINOW Society will take part in The AI Collective Skopje | Humans in AI Week: AI Literacy for Teachers, an event organized by AI Collective Skopje. The session will focus on local languages, ethical AI use, and practical classroom support for educators.

The event will take place from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Amphitheatre of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering in Skopje.

Supporting Teachers Through Local-Language AI Education

As part of the program, Suad Seferi, representing AINOW Society, will speak about edu.ainow.mk, a platform developed to make AI knowledge more accessible in local languages.

The goal of edu.ainow.mk is to support teachers, students, and the wider community in understanding artificial intelligence in a practical, responsible, and locally relevant way. At the event, we will present how AI resources in local languages can help educators introduce AI concepts, explore classroom use cases, and guide students toward more critical and ethical engagement with technology.

Why AI Literacy Matters for Educators

AI literacy cannot be built only by introducing new tools. It requires educators who understand both the opportunities and the risks of artificial intelligence. Teachers play a key role in helping students think critically, recognize bias, understand responsible use, and apply technology in meaningful ways.

The event will bring together practical demonstrations, expert discussions, and examples of AI-supported teaching practices relevant to the Macedonian and regional education context. Topics will include practical AI tools for teachers, digital and media literacy, ethical use of AI, gamification, and innovative approaches for increasing student engagement.

Speakers and Participants

The session will include contributions from:

  • Suad Seferi
  • Prof. Dr. Sead Džigal
  • Igor Bogdanoski
  • Prof. Dr. Vladimir Trajkovik

Together, the speakers will explore how artificial intelligence can be used responsibly in education, how teachers can benefit from AI-supported tools, and how local-language resources can make AI literacy more inclusive and accessible.

Who Should Attend

This event is intended for teachers, educators, school leaders, educational organizations, researchers, and everyone interested in the responsible and practical use of AI in education.

For AINOW Society, this is an important opportunity to continue our mission of making artificial intelligence understandable, accessible, and useful for communities across the region.
